When you're shooting photos with a LUT baked in, LUMIX gives you two routes: Real Time LUT and My Photo Styles. Both put a finished look on your JPEGs straight out of camera, but they behave differently - and after a lot of shooting we've settled on one. Here's the honest breakdown. What is Real Time LUT?
Real Time LUT lets you load a LUT into the camera and shoot with the graded look applied. It's brilliant for locking in a single signature look and shooting it all day.
The catch when you run multiple looks
Real Time LUT gets slightly limiting once you start swapping LUTs. When you change LUT, some settings reset - for example your grain and colour-noise preferences - so you re-set them every time. Fine for one look; tedious if you switch between several.
Why we shoot with My Photo Styles
My Photo Styles fixes it. Each saved style remembers the full combo - the LUT, its opacity, grain and noise - so once you dial a look in, it stays put. You can flip between saved looks instantly and each keeps its own settings. Only 4 are enabled by default, but you can unlock all 10.
How to set it up (quick version)
Load your LUTs to the SD card and into the LUT Library, unlock all My Photo Styles, then program a button to reach them quickly. For each style set the LUT, dial LUT Opacity, turn Grain to Low and Colour Noise Off, then press DISP > Save Current Setting. Our full install guide walks through every screen.
The bottom line
